Week ending 23rd June 2019

Notes

A bit of a mixed week of fishing and weather saw some anglers have bumper days while other struggled at times. The boats have been out almost every day and particularly on the brighter days have fared better than those form the bank. Overcast days have seen fish smashing damsel adults close in around the weed beds leaping clear of the water to take them in mid air. Huge hatches of caddis and damsels along with the usual buzzer clouds have seen some great surface activity with lots of fish falling to dry fly. Popper hoppers, cdc buzzers, f flys and g&h sedge have done well. Sub surface damsels, hares ear, buzzers, diawl bachs for naturals and small mini lures have caught. On the brighter days try small black tadpoles and fry patterns, we have had a bumper year for the perch spawning and the lake is full of 2 inch fry. If you want to go afloat please make sure you call and book a boat in advance to avoid disappointment as they are in very high demand at the moment.
