A wet and windy start and finish to the week with storm Ciara and then storm Dennis saw a busy middle part of the week with anglers trying to stay dry and not get blown away. Some great bags were taken, especially noted was for long time customer but first time angler here on Haywards … Continue reading Week ending 16th February 2020 »

A mixed week with the heavy winds that Storm Ciara brought towards the end of the week but the forecast saw anglers coming out in good numbers to try and get their fix before being blown off! Lots of bags of good numbers, possibly some of our highest ever since taking over the fishery, 2 … Continue reading Week ending 9th February 2020 »

A mixed week of both weather and fortunes some anglers had great bags and found it relatively easy to catch, others struggled to get anything to the bank. The boats have still been out of commission due to the high water levels but we are hoping that the levels will drop enough to make getting … Continue reading Week ending 2nd February 2020 »

This week‘s catch return is prefaced by a comment from the Game Fishing Centre‘s manager, Jonno Randall, who said, ‘At the moment Haywards Farm Lake is fishing so very well that is is actually difficult NOT to catch!‘ As far as the fishing was concerned a few blues and tiger trout put in an appearance … Continue reading Week ending 26th January 2020 »

We have lots of big fish in the lake at the moment between 4 and 22lbs so come prepared to have your string … Continue reading Week ending 12th January 2020 »

The higher water levels have seen … Continue reading Week ending 5th January 2020 »

High water levels remain and the fishing is proving excellent with some very large fish being caught. The largest was caught by Alan Wingate using a home tied fly call the “Wingate Wings”! Fish are close in with the bank anglers out fishing the boats!

There is certainly no shortage of water here with Haywards Farm being at the highest level in many years. The trout are feeding in the margins picking up worms coming up from the flooded grass with gusto! Snake flies on intermediate lines are picking up lots of fish. Have a great Christmas from us all … Continue reading Week ending 22nd December 2019 »

It really was an exceptional week‘s fishing with takes all around the lake and from the boats too with several anglers bagging six or more in a session with four double figure specimens recorded on the catch return cards. Our annual fur and feather match was a great success too, despite some horrible weather, we … Continue reading Week ending 15th December 2019 »
