Last week was another strong week for visiting anglers with so many flies hatching off the lake. It was hard to decide what fly to tie on! This led to lots of surface activity with plenty of free-rising fish throughout the days and into the evenings. It could well be that, after such an early … Continue reading Fishing Report 30th May 2022 »

It was another great week for hatching insects with the mayfly starting to come on a bit stronger. A few more daddies and our first damsels of the year have started to show themselves around the lake edges too, and great clouds of buzzers continue to hatch. Despite the bright conditions at times, fish have … Continue reading Fishing Report 16th May 2022 »

Despite this the catches were strong, … Continue reading Fishing Report 19th April 2022 »

Well that was one of the strangest starts to April we can remember with -5C temperatures at night, snow, hail, rain, wind and sunshine – we had it all. Despite the changeable conditions the fish stayed on the feed with bags of up to 7 fish being landed by those that were brave enough to … Continue reading Fishing Report 4th April 2022 »

What a week of weather: bright sun, calm days and March highs touching 19 degrees! This would spell doom for most anglers but many were keen to get out and feel the warmth of the sun on their faces. Despite the bright conditions, fish were feeding well and plenty were landed. Buzzers are hatching in … Continue reading Fishing Report 28th March 2022 »

Nymphs produced … Continue reading Fishing Report 14th March 2022 »

Last week was another busy one at the fishery with plenty of new faces in and around the lake which is always good to see. A few youngsters were getting in on the action too, not just on Kingfisher Pond but also on Haywards Farm Lake itself. Successful tactics have been similar to those of … Continue reading Fishing Report 7th March 2022 »
