Week ending 25th June 2017

Notes

The hottest week of the year meant that anglers didn’t venture out in any number. The lake did manage to produce a lovely 7.5lb Rainbow for Simon Marshall and a very respectable rod average of just under 2 fish per angler was achieved. Lets hope the cooler weather and more favourable conditions we are now … Continue reading Week ending 25th June 2017 »

Week ending 18th June 2017

Notes

Phew….What a scorcher! The weather has been fantastic, but not really suited to fishing. Those brave enough to venture out have had some success however and the newly installed aerators have been working their magic. Six and seven fish tallies have been recorded on buzzers, shuttlecock buzzers and damsels. The damsel hatch is now well … Continue reading Week ending 18th June 2017 »

Week ending 21st May 2017

Notes

Some anglers have struggled from the bank particularly in the bright sunshine but those on the boats have had bags up into the 20s including a fabulous brown for regular John Combe which was safely returned. Damsels are hatching off in big numbers now and the fish are not only hitting the nymphs but also the adults as they fly around the lake. Buzzers have been huge, try patterns that are black with hot orange wing buds, this will closely match what we have seen when spooning fish.
