Notes
A week that once again started to feel a bit more like spring! Warmer days and relatively calm conditions at times have seen the lake bubbling. Huge hatches of buzzers and olives have had the trout feeding in overdrive and some great bags coming because of it.
Keeping your flies in the top couple of feet of water has worked really well and the best tactics have been long lined nymphs, washing line and, for those willing to try it, dry fly have taken plenty.
Regular, Jay Bartlett had a couple of trips this week and managed to land 18 in one session including a tagged fish. His next trip with his young children saw them both land a fish each.
The fishing is very much focused on naturals so if you enjoy imitative techniques then come down and have a try. Evening fishing has been very productive so don’t forget to purchase your tickets before the shop shuts at 5.30pm
