Notes
Another excellent week of fishing saw lots of rods bent all over the fishery with the fish hard on the feed. Despite the cold and windy weather, it remained dry and plenty of anglers ventured out and really did make the most of it.
Some notable bags included a dozen well earned fish for regular, Grant Beaumont, who is busy taking advantage of some well earned holiday time. His catch included several fish between 4 and 7lbs which fell to a home tied olive zonker.
Sink tip lines have worked well just to keep the fly down a little but, as is usually the case, fish are hanging around in the top 5 feet. Blobs and snakes have accounted for a large proportion of fish but some anglers have persevered with the dries and have been well rewarded which is great to see in January! It certainly bodes well for the spring.
Our water is in fabulous condition and fish are fighting hard. Don’t forget if you land a good fish to get your Trout Masters entry form from the shop when you drop off your catch return. It’s free to enter and there are plenty of prizes up for grabs!
