Sportfish has been monitoring UK Government and Public Health England guidelines throughout its planning of the Sportfish Show, scheduled for 16th/17th May 2020, given the nature of the current coronavirus (COVID–19) outbreak.
The wellbeing of our visitors, exhibitors and staff is of the utmost importance to us and we have therefore had to take the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Sportfish Show.
Our show is the game fishing event of the year and we appreciate many of you will disappointed not to be able to engage in our annual celebration of the sport, but we are sure you will understand why we have taken this decision, and support it.
Our Sportfish stores at Theale and Winforton (and our sister store, Farlows in London) remain open for business and we have ensured that good practices are in place to support the health of our in–store customers and staff including:
- Educating our staff on prevention
- Emphasising frequent and correct hand washing
- Cleaning high contact points and areas in our stores more frequently
- Providing in–store hand sanitiser for customer use, when available
However, if you are unable to visit us in–store do remember that we carry a huge range of products to cater for all fly and lure fishing needs, from all of the leading brands and manufacturers, and the whole range is available to purchase online at: www.sportfish.co.uk or by telephone on 01544 327111.
And since we can’t provide the best show in the country this year we will be launching some deals and special offers to help you kit yourself out for the season – further details will be published in the very near future.
The great British countryside remains very much open for business and, if you are not showing any adverse health symptoms, then getting away from everyone, going fishing and enjoying some perfect solitude is surely a good thing.
Although there won’t be a Sportfish Show in 2020, our message is very much “keep on fishing!” while it remains safe to do so and we look forward to welcoming you back to the 2021 show!
